Maxine Helen Burch (Lanter) Parish

DANVILLE — “When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise to meet Him in the clouds of the sky; His perfect salvation, His wonderful love I’ll shout (and sing) with the angels on high.”

Maxine Helen Burch (Lanter) Parish, 85, of Danville, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend began eternity with her savior Jesus Christ at 9:08 a.m., Dec. 24, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Visitation for family and friends with be noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, at Pape Memorial Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville. Celebration of life services to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating.

Maxine was born March 16, 1927, to Monroe and Hazel (Bridgewater) Burch at Lakeview Memorial Hospital, Danville.

She was married to Dale Lanter and later married to John Parish, both of whom preceded her in death.

She also was predeceased in death by her parents; a son, Jeffrey Dale Lanter; a sister, Elizabeth Sisco; a brother, Jack Burch; and two brothers-in-law, Jere Sullivan and Bob French.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Lanter and wife, Becky, of Glen Ellyn; a son, Marty Lanter of Danville; a daughter, Michelle Lanter of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one grandchild; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Burch and his wife, Wanda, of Sun City Center, Fla.; a sister, Evelyn Barlow and her husband, Bill, of Oakwood, Ill.; a sister, Belva Sullivan of Danville; a sister, Barbara French of Danville; two nieces; and four nephews.

Maxine attended Daniel Grade School and graduated with the class of 1943 from Danville High School. She lived in California for 14 years in the Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara areas, where she enjoyed walks on the beach and collecting sea shells. She retired from Santa Barbara County Tax Office.

Following her retirement, she moved to Danville to be near family. She had a great love of music and singing and could sing great harmony. She was a former soloist and choir member at St. Mark United Methodist Church of Santa Barbara; Sweet Adelines of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Danville Festival Chorus. She was presently a member of Central Park Church of Christ of Tilton, Danville Christian Women’s Connection and Danville Symphony Orchestra.

She enjoyed the television and radio gospel messages of Dr. Charles Stanley and Radio Bible Class Ministries; vacationing with family members in Michigan, the Gatlinburg, Smoky Mountain National Park area and Florida; and sharing stories, jokes, and laughs with family and friends.

She will be sorely missed by all who loved her until we meet at Jesus’ feet. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” Go tell it on the mountain.

In lieu of flowers, memorial condolences may be made to Central Park Church of Christ, 1735 S. Washington St., Tilton, IL 61833.
