Ruth Ellen Gray, 57, of Veedersburg, Ind., died at 2:30 p.m. EDT Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at home following an eight-year battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 14, 1956, at Danville, the daughter of Jack Leroy and Violet (Nale) Felgenhauer.
She attended Ridge Farm and Covington schools. She was a seamstress working at area garment factories. She moved from Covington to Veedersburg 38 years ago.
Ruth married Tommy Gray on March 24, 1973, at Covington, Ind., and he survives.
Also surviving is a son, Travis (Leah) Gray of Magnolia, Ill.; her mother, Violet Felgenhauer of Covington, Ind.; and seven siblings, Marion (Tracy) Felgenhauer of Covington, Ind., James (Debbie) Felgenhauer of Portland, Texas, Jeff (Mary) Felgenhauer of Williamsport, Ind., Martin (Sue) Felgenhauer of Holiday, Fla., Kay (Mickey) Jamal of Milton, N.Y., Randy (Mary Lou) Felgenhauer of Georgetown, and Jack Leroy Felgenhauer Jr. of Veedersburg, Ind.; two grandchildren; and 22 nieces and nephews.
Her father and a sister, Cynthia Lindley, preceded her in death.
She requested cremation. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Pastor Robert Fairchild officiating.
