Bessie W. Bullock, 65, of Danville, passed this life at 7:30 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 19, 2013) at her residence.
Born on May 4, 1948, in Blytheville, Ark., she was the daughter of A.D. and Helen Buckner Patton.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Ms. Bullock was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Bessie was formerly married to Freddy Bullock Jr. They married in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1996.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Tony) Rhodes, Brenda (Carlos) Bullock and Virginia (Michael) Barnett; two sons, Freddy (Ebony) Bullock and Marvin Brandon; 12 brothers, Jerry (Betty) Patton, A.D. (Tanya) Patton, Robert Patton, Gary Patton, Larry Patton, Terry Patton, Theodore Patton and Nick (Donna) Patton, all of Danville, Albert Patton and Thomas Patton, both of Rantoul, Rick Patton of Champaign, and K.C. (Ethel) Patton of Homestead, Fla.; and six sisters, Helen Patton, Inez (Ted) Brown, Cathy (Victor) Bradley, all from Rantoul, Mozella Durgan, Clida Patton, both of Danville, and Carrie Patton of Blytheville, Ark.
Bessie had seven grandchildren; a close friend, Tanya Patton and Rosemary Summers; and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Homegoing service will commence at noon Thursday, Sept. 26, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Visitation: 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Viewing will be from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams. Officiating: Pastor Frank McCullough. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
