---- — GEORGETOWN — Barbara L. Binkley, 84, of Georgetown, passed away at 11 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

On Dec. 17, 1928, she was born to Perry and Mildred (Lewis) Cohoon in Georgetown.

She was first wed to John F. Hoskins. She later married Robert Binkley on March 26, 1976, who will miss her dearly.

She also is survived by her children, William E. (Christy) Hoskins of Tilton, Sue Ann (Patrick) Bowman of Ridge Farm, Myra (James) Goulding of Maricopa, Ariz., Rita Henschen of Maricopa, Ariz., and Melissa Hoskins of Georgetown; her stepdaughters, Christy (Larry) Stratton of Morgan Hill, Calif., Marla Simmonds of Westville and Susan (Philip) Couts of Schaumburg; her 22 grandchildren; her 45 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Tom (Louise) Cohoon of Georgetown, Patricia Cohoon of Chrisman, Janet Harper of Georgetown and Jane Cline of Georgetown.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her son, John Kent Hoskins; her sister, Donna Sue Cohoon; and her son-in-law, Charles Simmonds.

Barbara was a 1947 graduate of Georgetown High School. In her early years, Barbara worked at Morris-Flamingo Bobby-Pin Factory, and later on she worked at the Chicago Molding Plastic Factory in Georgetown from which she retired.

She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls and doing genealogy. She also enjoyed tending her flowers, sewing and cake-decorating as well as sports. She loved her family very much and treasured the time she spent with them, especially her grandkids.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to her service. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm.
