Kim Alan Henderson, 57, of Danville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at his home.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Pape Memorial Home, 10 E. Williams St. in Danville, with Pastor John Mincy officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. Burial will be in Sandusky Cemetery in Westville.

He attended Westville schools before graduating in 1973 and going on to Danville Junior College where he graduated in 1975 with a degree in graphic design.

Kim was an owner and operator of his own truck for over 37 years and also dedicated many hours at the Vermilion County Speedway, making sure the grounds were clean, mowed and ready to go, and doing whatever needed to be done. He was a longtime, active member of Westville Church of Christ. Kim also enjoyed watching his son race, drinking coffee at The Nugget with his friends and telling jokes. He was a big fan of the White Sox and the Bears.

Kim married Donna Henderson on Oct. 6, 1984, in Westville, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, David Henderson (Sara Proffitt) and Dustin Henderson (Mindy Carrillo); three grandchildren, Junior and Gauge Carrillo and Zade Axel Henderson (to be born in November of this year); two brothers, Dennis (Marie) Henderson of Danville and Gene (Kathleen) Henderson of Effingham; a sister, Peach (Rick) Wilson of Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
