RIDGE FARM — Flossie M. Cary, 99, of Ridge Farm, went home at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Flossie was born June 5, 1914, in Cumberland County, Ky., to Hunter and Mattie Farley White.

She married Denver Davis Cary on June 21, 1940, in Missouri. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1991.

Surviving are three daughters, Barbara (Duane) Rosdail of Indianola, Judie Land of Ridge Farm and Marcie (Kent) Barker of Belleville; one sister, Ruby Anderson of Glasgow, Ky.; five grandchildren, Bob (Shelley) Land, Lisa (Douglas) Nesbitt, Tammy (Brian) Bailey, Eric (Lisa) Rosdail and Amy Land; and eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Lucas, Carissa, Lauren, Noah, Amanda, Tanner and Bailey.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters and one son, Curtis Cary.

Flossie enjoyed cooking at Ridgeway Lanes in Ridge Farm for 32 years where she was a very sharing and caring person. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Flossie also loved flowers and mowing and had beautiful flower beds all of her life.

Flossie loved working with young people and guiding and encouraging them along the way. She was a member of the Ridge Farm Church of Christ and enjoyed vacationing in Florida.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her here and will be welcomed by all who’ve gone before.

Celebration of life service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Robison Chapel in Catlin, Pastor Jim Blue to officiate. Burial in: Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. Visitation: noon-2 p.m. on Saturday at Robison Chapel in Catlin.
