GEORGETOWN — K. Delbert Busey, 74, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
He was born on April 25, 1939, in Urbana to Kenneth Kendall and Evelyn Smith Busey. Delbert married Phyllis Dalbey Aug. 13, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Fairmount.
Phyllis survives as well as one son, Dr. Timothy (Debra) Busey of Decatur; three daughters, Melinda (Gary) West of Chillicothe, Ohio, Melanie (Tad Frederick) Busey of Savannah, Ga., and Melissa (Brett) Wagner of Avon, Ind.; one brother, Norman (Sharon) Busey of Victorville, Calif.; four sisters, Donna Jean Wilson of Rantoul, Ruth Martin of Rantoul, Mary Bruneau of Rantoul and Phyllis Orcutt of Urbana; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one grandson.
Delbert was employed by Hyster for 24 years and was a self-employed contractor for 30 years. He was an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Georgetown. Delbert enjoyed his children and grandchildren, raised Christmas trees and liked to garden.
Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bethel Baptist Church in Georgetown, with pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating. Burial in: the Georgetown Cemetery.
