Jayne Frances Lynch, 55, of Fairmount passed away at 10:17 p.m. Monday, Nov 11, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney. Burial will be at GAR Cemetery, Homer. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lynch was born on Oct. 21, 1958, in Champaign, a daughter to Russell and Marilyn White Lynch.
She is survived by her mother of Fairmount; her children, Angi Luhrsen (Jeremy) of Mahomet, Jessi Gawthorp (Phil) of Villa Grove, Kaleb Shields of Urbana and Keith Shields of Monticello; her grandchildren, Tyler, Emma and Noah Luhrsen, Gavin and Lilyjo Frances Gawthorp, London Lefkowitz, and Isaiah Shields; her dog, Margo; her siblings, Julie Price (Steve) of Clayton, N.M., Joni Markel (Bill) of Sidell, Kenny Lynch (Jennifer) of Fairmount, Kerry Lynch and Brad Hurt of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russ Lynch; a brother, Keith Lynch; granddaughter, Macey Deuwer; and her grandparents, Eddie and Mary White and Raymond and May Lynch.
She attended the University of Illinois, where she received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and microbiology, as well as a master’s degree in microbiology. She was employed at the University of Illinois as a research specialist at VetMed, where she loved her job. She had a love for animals, reading and playing with her grandchildren.
