---- — DECATUR — Louise Pedigo, 88, of Decatur and formerly of Danville, mother of Lynn Tilton and son-in-law Stephen Tilton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, in Danville with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, Humane Society of Danville, or a charity of your choice.

Louise was born Feb. 23, 1925, to John and Elvira Cooke of Westville.

She was married on Feb. 14, 1943, to Juan W. Pedigo. They celebrated 55 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1998.

Louise worked for 35 years at General Electric as an assembler. She was a very devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter. She and Juan loved to ballroom dance. She enjoyed tending her flowers, maintaining a beautiful yard, being outdoors, playing bunco, shopping and caring for her dogs.

Upon her retirement, she and Juan spent winters in Florida enjoying the beaches and the sunshine. After her husband passed in 1998, Louise continued to live in Danville until 2007 when she moved to Hickory Point Christian Village Assisted Living in Decatur to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. In 2010, she was moved to Fair Havens Christian Home.

Louise had a lively, gentle, friendly, likeable, and loving personality. She was very dedicated to her family and siblings. She knew no strangers.

Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Louise Tilton and son-in-law, Stephen A. Tilton, whom she loved as a son. Also surviving are three brothers, John Cooke of Danville, Alex Cooke (Evelyn) of Athens, Ala., and Louie Cooke of Westville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Leona Payne, sisters-in-law Charlotte Cooke and Alice Cooke, and loving pets, Suzy and Courty.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Fair Havens Christian Home, the staff of Harbor Light Hospice, and Dr. Richard Fritz for their tender, loving care.

Please join Louise’s family in sharing memories, photos, and video of her life through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
