Timothy C. Summers, 63 of Peoria, formerly of Danville, passed this life on Oct.17, 2013.
Timothy was born Sept. 17, 1950, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Walter J. and Margaret Humphrey Summers Jr.
Timothy was a Danville High School graduate, serving in the United States Army and retired from Caterpillar.
Timothy was good to his family and had a heart as big as his smile. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church. He loved sports especially being a big fan of NASCAR racing, the Chicago Bears and White Sox. Timothy officiated and coached baseball, basketball and softball for many years. He enjoyed restoring old Volkswagon Beetles.
Timothy leaves to cherish his memory a son, Jacob Summers of Nashville, Tenn; brothers Doran (Kelly) Summers and Howard Summers of Kentucky; sisters Yvonne Summers of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Candy (Jerome) Scott of Danville and Lynetta Stewart of Indianapolis, Ind.; an aunt Louise Humphrey of Detroit; nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends; and a special extended family, Roger Tate, Holly Tate Jones, Shannon Tate Buhs, Ryan Tate and Megan Tate Hall, all of Washington.
Timothy was preceded in death by a brother Walter J. Summers III, and two sisters, Mary Joanne Summers Miles and Belinda Summers.
A Celebration of Life will commence at noon Thursday, Oct. 24, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. A public viewing will commence from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville. Officiating: Pastor Thomas W. Miller. Interment: Spring Hill Cemetery.
