GEORGETOWN — Ronald “Ronnie” L. Draper, 78, of Georgetown, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at his home.
Ronald was born June 8, 1935, in Danville, the son of John T. and Dora (Kincaid) Draper.
He married Carol Draper on May 2, 1981, in Alvin. She survives.
He also is survived by one daughter, Dora (Jason) Knight, of Ridge Farm; one son, Joe (Chrissy) Draper, of Oakwood; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kim Welch; and one sister.
Ronald served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for 35 years until he retired. He was a member of American Legion Post 51 in Westville. He enjoyed horseback riding, riding in tractors, farming, riding motorcycles and tinkering around with his grandchildren.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded by the Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac. A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Danville National Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Westville American Legion.
