POTOMAC — Robert C. Ellett, 71, of Potomac, passed away at 5:21 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center.
Robert was born on Aug. 20, 1942, in Armstrong to Brice and Louise (Collins) Ellett Jr.
He married Barbara Sutton on Aug. 3, 1963, at Georgetown United Methodist Church.
Bob attended Eastern Illinois University and the University of Illinois. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Armstrong, Potomac Masonic Lodge, and he was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He retired from Labor Local 703 in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; and their children, Robert (Luann) Ellett of Armstrong, Joel (Beth) Ellett of Lebanon, Tenn., Susan Ellett of Potomac and Eliza Ellett of Chicago. He also is survived by 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who were in and out of their house growing up.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Pollock; two brothers, Bill and Mike Ellett; and a special granddaughter, Kailee Ann Rush.
A celebration of Robert’s life will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac, with Pastor Randy Holden officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
