VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — Lee R. Borst, 82, formerly of the Mellott and Veedersburg areas, passed away at 1:30 a.m. EDT Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica, Ind.
Lee was born in Mellott, Ind., on May 7, 1931. He was the son of the late Henry and Lucille (Gott) Borst.
Lee was raised in Mellott and Veedersburg. As a youth, he attended grade school in Veedersburg and later moved to LaPorte, Ind., where he attended high school.
In 1965, Lee moved to Pompano Beach, Fla., and worked for Flowers Construction Co. He built sea walls up and down the Florida coast line. In 2004, Lee moved back to Fountain County and settled in Veedersburg. He later moved to Attica, and lived in the senior apartments before going into the nursing center in August.
In Lee’s early years, he attended North Christian Church in Mellott.
Lee leaves behind his longtime friend, Lee Ann Waggener, Pompano Beach, Fla.; his brother, Robert (Rose) Borst, LaPorte, Ind.; an uncle, David McMurtrie, Attica; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Donald Dean Borst.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1. The Rev. Janet Luchs will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, Ind.
