FAIRMOUNT — Vivian R. Smith, 90, of Fairmount, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at The Waters of Covington, Ind., where she had resided for the past 10 years.
Vivian was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Danville to William and Ona Woodard Reese.
She married Ray F. Smith in 1943 in Fairmount. Ray passed away in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Laura) Smith of Hendersonville, N.C., and Jerry Smith of Veedersburg, Ind.; one daughter, Judy Martin of Indianapolis; one sister, Edith Williamson of Kingsport, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vivian was preceded in death by one sister, Freda Reynolds; two brothers, Lyle and Foster Reese; and one granddaughter, Jess.
Vivian spent more than 32 years as head cashier at First National Bank of Fairmount. She was a graduate of Fairmount High School and had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her enjoyment centered around her husband Ray and her family. The couple spent a lot of time attending their grandchildren’s sporting and school activities.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Calvary Baptist Church in Danville with Pastor Scott McCurdy and Pastor Joe Humerichous officiating. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time at the church.
