Lakwana Renee Williams began her earthly journey on Dec. 18, 1981, in Danville, the joyous baby girl of Leona Williams Duckworth and Raymond Miles.
Lakwana, affectionately known as Kwana, was raised in Danville by her mother Leona and stepfather Edward.
Kwana attended Danville High School, was previously employed at Con-Air Industry and attended Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Kwana enjoyed taking pictures, making her children smile and spending time with her family. She was a greater dancer, phenomenal cook, always ready for travel and an avid shopper. She was full of life and free-spirited. Through life, Kwana experienced much adversity but overcame them all victoriously with grace; she was a virtuous and very strong woman.
On Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 2:20 a.m., Lakwana Renee Williams, 32, was released from the pain and suffering of this world. Kwana’s presence and joyous essence will be greatly missed by her bountiful family members and closest friends.
Lakwana leaves to cherish her loving memory her parents, Leona (Edward) Duckworth and Raymond (Asia) Miles both of Danville; daughters, Clara and Ta’Khyiah Williams; siblings, Tequilla Williams, Denisha Williams, Felisha (Cleveland) Combs, Aniya Miles, Edward (Lakeita) Duckworth, Christopher Williams, Raymond Williams Jr., and Rashad Miles; nieces: Denadjah, Sadayia, Lakyia, Cyniah, Anaiya, Charnai; nephews: K’Maurea, Trevaun, and Jayden; special friends: Lalita King and Tia Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will commence at noon Saturday, March 22, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., until the time of the service. Officiating: Pastor Bobby Keys. Interment: Sanhill Memorial Park. A public viewing will commence from 1-5 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville.
