CATLIN — Roberta “Bertie” Rodrick 88 of Catlin, passed away at 7:29 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.
Roberta was born Nov. 30, 1925, in Crawford County, Illinois, to Chester and Ara Fyffe Rosborough.
She married Max L. Rodrick on July 12, 1945, in Lawrenceville, Ill. Max passed away Sept. 20, 2003.
Survivors include one son, Floyd (Brenda) Rodrick of Vincennes, Ind.; two daughters, Roberta Sue (Donald) Boughan of Chauncey, Ill., and Juanita (Bruce) Wesner of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; one brother, Mervin (Midge) Rosborough of Sumner, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Bertie was an active member of Catlin Church of Christ, where she belonged to the Dorcas Sunday School Class, had worked in the church nursery, and participated in Joyful Joiners.
Bertie and Max delivered Meals on Wheels for a time and she enjoyed yard work and being outdoors. She was a member of the Catlin Historical Society, the Vermilion County Museum and the Timber Wolf Organization.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Catlin Church of Christ with Darren Johnson officiating. Concluding services: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Chauncey Cemetery in Chauncey, Ill., with Kinzer Havill officiating.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Catlin Church of Christ.
