TILTON — Betty Donovan, 88, of Tilton, died on March 10, 2014, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1925, the daughter of Ed and Emma (Miller) Tapp in Danville.
She was first married to Floyd Ahring. He preceded her in death. She later married Roy Donovan. He also preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Ahring of Tilton; her stepdaughter, Denise Seymore; two grandchildren, Luke Ahring of Tilton and Lindsey Ahring of Costa Mesa, Calif.; two step-grandsons; and cousins, friends and other loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her only son, George Ahring, who was her sunshine; her parents; two sisters; and one brother.
Betty liked to cook and bake. She liked to make chicken and noodles with her granddaughter, Lindsey, and loved roses. Betty and her grandson, Luke, both enjoyed being Chicago Cubs fans. She loved her two grandkids, and she used to sing with her twin sister at Southside Church of Christ.
A celebration of Betty’s life will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Sunset Memorial Park in the Chapel Mausoleum. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville, is in charge of the arrangements. Raymie Gordon will be officiating.
