DANVILLE — Hubert Leroy Jordan, 64, of Danville, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
He was born Aug. 29, 1949, the son of Paul and Mary (Sanders) Jordan, in Winchester, Tenn.
He married Faye Llewellyn on Sept. 16, 1972. She survives.
Also surviving Hubert are his three children, Cindy VanCamp of Danville, Wendy (Shehal) Gandhi of St. Louis, Mo., and Ronda Jordan of Gainesville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Alison (Joe) Irons of Danville, Danny Llewellyn of Danville, Katie Llewellyn of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Brooke, Andrea and Samuel Gandhi of St. Louis and Elijah Kilpatrick of Gainesville, Fla,; seven great-grandchildren, Gavin, Caden, Cali, Akiera, Derrick, Joey and Mackenzie; and five brothers, Larry (Janice) Jordan, Paul (Judy) Jordan, Carl (Carla) Jordan, Stan (Sue) Jordan and Jim (Paula) Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jack Llewellyn.
Hubert served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the CSX Railroad In 2004. He enjoyed working on tractors and being outside, watching TV and spending time with his family. He was a very simple and gentle man who worked very hard.
A celebration of Hubert’s life will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville, with Tim Willard officiating. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Hubert’s name to the donor’s choice.
