Dorothea “Dorothy” L. Livingston, 85, of Oakwood, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at her home.
Dorothy was born June 20, 1927, in Potomac to William and Ollie Mae Gillespie Wells. She married James Livingston on Nov. 10, 1943, in Potomac. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, James (Donna) Livingston of North Redington Beach, Fla., and Gary Livingston of Oakwood; five daughters, Sue (Glenn) Maxwell of Oakwood, Naomi Livingston of Kankakee, Naomi Copes of Kankakee, Doris (Donald) Bloomfield of Muncie and Gail (Charles) Parnell of Chunky, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Maxwell; four brothers; six sisters; and one granddaughter, Annette Lorraine.
Dorothy was a member of the Meridian First Church of the Nazarene, Meridian, Miss. She enjoyed embroidering, gardening, flowers, and multiple crafts. She loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with the Rev. Dennis Anglin officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Chunky Cemetery, Chunky, Miss. Visitation from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, and 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Robison Chapel.
