William D. “Bill” Warner


WELLINGTON — William D. “Bill” Warner, 58, of Wellington, passed away at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at his home.

He was born Aug. 20, 1955, in Danville, the son of Wilbur and Viola Mae (Robertson) Warner.

He married Karen Pate on Sept. 17, 1977, at Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston. She survives in Wellington.

He also is survived by one daughter, Jamie (Larry) Pruitt of Wellington; one son, Jarrod (Julie) Warner of Wellington; one sister, Joanne Catron of Florida; six brothers, Bud Warner of Hoopeston, Jerry Warner of Hoopeston, Arthur “Art” (Jeanne) Warner of Rockford, Steve (Susan) Warner of New Mexico, Irvin Warner of Hoopeston, and Mike (Kim) Warner of Wellington; four grandchildren, Dylan, Kaileigh, Macy and Cale; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Betty, Edith and Ruth Ann; and two brothers, Paul and Herschel Lee.

Bill worked at American Can in Hoopeston and later for RBT Trucking. He later became a self-made business owner, owning several different businesses, including Wilkar Trucking, Cissna Park Bowl and Warner Lawn Service.

Bill enjoyed fishing, bowling, riding his motorcycle, racing, playing softball and coaching youth baseball. The joy of his life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A visitation will be 4–8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Anderson Funeral Home, with Pastor Brent Zastrow officiating. Per his wishes, following the funeral service, he will be cremated.
