Betty L. Weller

OAKWOOD — Betty L. Weller, 85, of Oakwood, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at home.

Betty was born on Oct. 7, 1925, in Oakwood, to Willis and Fern Dui.

She married Jack D. Weller on Jan. 13, 1946.

He survives as well as children, Michael Weller of Danville, Marla (Jim) Tucker of Terre Haute, Ind., and Rhonda King of Bradford, Mass. She also is survived by seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother, an infant son and an infant great-grandson.

Betty graduated from Bismarck High School and worked prior to retirement as a bookkeeper and secretary, her longest employment being at the Danville Chamber of Commerce.

She and Jack enjoyed many years of summer living in the Hayward, Wis., area.

She was an avid reader and for many years, enjoyed all forms of needlework.

Services will begin at 1:15 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Pape Funeral Home in Danville, with visitation from 11:15 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery, located on the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System grounds in Danville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oakwood Public Library.
