Lorema E. Vice, 91, of Indianapolis, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Rose Walk Health Care, Indianapolis.
She was born July 11, 1922, in Glasgow, Ky., the daughter of Ed and Nettie Keen Simpson, both deceased.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Vice on Oct. 13, 1957, in Georgetown, until his passing in 1990.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence Sutton of San Diego, Calif., Kenneth W. Vice of Indianapolis, Virginia E. Barker of Georgetown, Cathern M. Pataki of Fithian, Barbara M. Elliott of Potomac, M. Jane Giesert of Florida, Betty J. Rockwell of Fithian and Lana K. Miller of Georgetown; her several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters and six brothers.
Lorema worked for Peterson’s, as well as the Sewing Factory in Georgetown, and later worked for Ben Franklin Store in Georgetown. She loved going bowling, sewing and doing ceramics.
A celebration of Lorema’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
