NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Judith K. Cassel, 74, of North Fort Myers, Fla., passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Judy was the daughter of the late Frederic Heckler and Paul and Doris Heckler Rice. Judy was born in Paris, Ill., and raised in Danville, Ill. She graduated from Schlarman High School in 1958.
Judy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry G. Cassel; three daughters, Tamara and Rick Tiefel, of Clay City, Ind., Pamela and Jack Jaeger, of Terre Haute, Ind., and Victoria “Tori” and Jeff Foley, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather and four infant children.
Judy attended Danville Community College in 1969 and graduated with her LPN degree. Judy was an LPN at Lake View emergency room in Danville and Heritage Nursing Center in Paris for many years. Judy’s greatest love was her animals. She found her true calling at Taylor & Climer Veterinary Clinic in Paris as a veterinarian assistant.
Memorial services will be held in Indiana at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter or Hope Hospice.
