Norma Jane Tuttle, 83, passed away in Desoto, Mo., on Aug. 7, 2013, at Jefferson Regional Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1930, in Danville, the daughter of Millard E. and Gladys D. (Dubre) Goings.
She married George Allen Tuttle on June 27, 1952, at the Methodist Church in Crawfordsville, Ind. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1998.
Surviving her are four children, a son, George (Judy) Tuttle; daughters, Zylphia (Randy) Thomas, Teresa Tuttle and Renee (Mark) Ferrell. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn (Bill) Cohee of Danville; a sister-in-law, Carol Goings of Danville; a sister-in-law, Jean Murrell of Florida; and a brother-in-law Marvin Tuttle of California.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Millard E. and Gladys D. (Dubre) Goings; her spouse of 45 years, George A. Tuttle; a brother, Jack Goings; a sister Vivian (Cox); a brother-in-law Paul Cox; a brother-in-law Felix Murrell.
She worked as a bindery foreman at Eureka Printing for 19-and-a-half years before working at CRIS Senior Services as the secretary. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary since 1971.
Norma liked to go bowling, hunt mushrooms, bake and make wedding cakes for her family members and friends.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived with her daughter Renee and her family for the last seven years and greatly enjoyed spending time with her three grandsons. She loved to bowl with them on the Wii.
A celebration of Norma’s life will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. A visitation will 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Johnson Cemetery in Danville.
