Harold Thomas, 83, of Danville, passed this life Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, Fla., surrounded by his loving family.
Harold and his wife of 56 years, Betty, wintered in Florida for the past 17 years and were involved in many committees, activities, etc., during the winter, including helping put up Christmas lights and decorations for persons unable to do so. He also liked to shuffle and be with many friends in Holiday Mobile Park.
His wife survives along with their children, Danny (Connie) of Dallas, Texas, Jim (Kathy) of Danville, Lisa (Mark) Lawlyes of Danville and Lori (Scott) Morscheiser of Fisher; along with 10 grandchildren, Alicia (Brian) Nimmick, Kim Thomas, Melissa (Mike) Pietraszewski, Michelle (Randy) McMasters, Megan (Zech) Connelly, Ryan and Tyler Lawlyes and Drayton, Dawson and Drew Purvis; also, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; plus, four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; one nephew and five nieces.
He had worked at William Davies Packing House for several years and Hyster Company for 28 years before retiring in December 1992. After retirement, they enjoyed woodworking, making crafts to sell, fishing and attending the many activities of grandkids and great-grandkids throughout the years.
Harold will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. A private service will be held at a later date.
