FT. MYERS, Fla. — Bernice “Bobbie” Davis, formerly of Danville, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Fla.
Bobbie was born in Rossville on Nov. 27, 1919, the daughter of Elmer and Ferne Potts.
In 1943, she married Robert M. Davis, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 2010.
Surviving is a son, John R. Davis and daughter-in-law, Chris, of Ft Myers, Fla.; a sister, Louise Howell of Deland, Fla.; nieces, Bonnie Bowles of Danville, Barbara Glover of Williamsport, Ind., and Teresa (Tim) Vipond and their son, Andrew (Elizabeth) Vipond of Florida; and her cousin, George Walker of Texas.
In addition to her husband, Bobbie was preceded in death by a sister, Rae Bowles.
Bobbie enjoyed playing golf at Turtle Run in Danville and worked with her husband at Davis Grocery in Collison before they retired and moved to Danville.
Due to a family illness, a memorial for Bernice “Bobbie” Davis will be held late in May or first of June. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville is in charge of arrangements.
