LEBANON, Ind. — Brenda Joyce Walters, 66, of Lebanon, Ind., and formerly of Cayuga, Kingman and Covington, Ind., passed away at 10:15 a.m. EST Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Hickory Creek at Lebanon in Lebanon, Ind.
Brenda was born May 8, 1947, in Eugene, Ind., the daughter of the late Georgianne Boyd Keister and George Franklin Keister.
Survivors include two sons, Roy (Kristina) Walters of Jamestown, Ind., and Jerry Dean (Milee) Walters of Kingman, Ind.; one granddaughter, Madison Fortune of Jamestown, Ind.; two brothers, Larry F. (Carolyn) Lloyd of Morgantown, Ind., and Herbert Earl (Charlotte) Lloyd of Danville, Ill.; and a sister, Janice Keister of Danville
Brenda was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Earla Ann Walters; stepfather, Herbert Earl Lloyd Sr.; and brother, Richard L. Lloyd.
Brenda worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation for 30 years, retiring on June 27, 2008, as a radio switchboard operator. She was a 1966 graduate of Fountain Central High School.
Brenda’s memberships included Greencastle Moose Lodge and Covington American Legion Auxiliary. Brenda enjoyed watching TV, reading and going out with her family and friends.
Funeral services: noon EST Friday, Feb. 28, at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Ind. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, Ind. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. EST Thursday, Feb. 27, at the funeral home.
