Peggy, 70, lost her battle with cancer this past Friday at her home in Danville.
She worked for many years at CCL where she made a lot of lasting friendships. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, bingo and winning pool games at her favorite taverns.
She was born and raised in Covington, Ind., where she met the love of her life, Harl Chris Ziegler. They married and raised three children in Dubois, Ind. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1981.
She also previously had lost a brother; a sister; both parents; and more recently, her son Harl, who also lost his life to cancer on May 31, 2013.
She was surrounded at her moment of passing by her beloved daughter, Sylvia Hume; grandchildren, Timothy Shelato and Leather Hume; thought of granddaughter, Shawnee Stine; Jessica Gray, wife of grandson, Erik Gray; and loyal friend, Denise Zercher. Also surviving her is a son, Ryan Ziegler; and more grandchildren, Kristy, Cassandra, Andrea and Christifer; two beloved sisters, Judy Brown and Barbra Phelps; and a number of nieces, nephews and several great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Pape Family Mortuary, Danville. All who loved and appreciated her are asked to attend and share their pictures and memories, as she will live on when we remember.
