DANVILLE – Norma Howard, of Danville, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014.
She was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Marshall, the daughter of Benjamin and Goldie Brewster Sweet.
She married William Howard on Jan. 27, 1954, in Detroit, Mich.
She is survived by her husband, William, and her daughter, Jan Howard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James; and her sister, Lucinda.
Norma worked at JCPenney for many years as the jewelry merchandiser. She truly loved her work as well as meeting new people and seeing old friends.
Norma loved to golf, especially with her husband at the Elks Club. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden whether she was planting or just sitting and taking in the scenery. Norma also was involved and very supportive of the Vermilion County Animal Foundation. Above all else, Norma loved her family. She will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her.
A celebration of Norma’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at The Church of The Holy Trinity. A visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Norma’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Vermilion County Animal Foundation or The Church of The Holy Trinity.
