He attended East Park Elementary, Garfield Elementary, North Ridge Middle School and Danville High School, all in Danville.

“Jon Jon” leaves to cherish his memories his parents; one son, Jaiden TyJhon Gregory; two daughters, Aryonna Marie and Jai’mone Dekay Gregory; four sisters, Shannon Cooper-Gregory of Washington, D.C., Matrika Redd (James) of Terre Haute, Ind., Shanqoa’ia Gregory of Urbana, Alexus Gregory of Danville; one godsister, Daikierra Dandridge of Danville; four brothers, James Goldston, Jashaun Redd (Ethel) of Danville, Tyran Gregory and Jamariahn Gregory of Terre Haute, Ind.; one great-aunt, Bessie Brown of Columbus, Ga.; one great-uncle, Boysie Wynn (Matte) of North Chicago; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.

He had a gentle spirit and loved everyone he came in contact with. His family was precious to him. He enjoyed spending time with friends. He never met a stranger.

Jon Jon was known for his dancing, joking and for dressing “fresh” all the time with his fitted caps and tennis shoes. Jon Jon’s favorite color was red, and he was always wearing a smile. If anyone ever needed anything he would give his last. He enjoyed traveling to different places and enjoyed every moment of his life.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russell P. Gregory, Lucy Belle Simms, Willa Mae Rice and Allan J. Cohen Jr.; and one special uncle, Donald P. Gresham.
