Rusty Noah Harper, 63, of Danville, went home to join his wife and son, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in Champaign. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Danville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105. Pape Memorial Home & Gardens is in charge of arrangements.
Rusty was born on Nov. 28, 1945, in Danville, to Lee and Martha (Leeper) Harper. He attended Indiana schools, and later became a truck driver for Montgomery Trucking. He also worked at both Allith Prouty and Hyster. Rusty enjoyed spending time with Sarah, Chantel, and Dhezirae Pridemore, Tyler Hutchinson, Cody, Dale and Ashley Lewis, as well as his other family at Rosie’s.
Rusty married Beverly Spencer on Oct. 17, 1971, in Danville; she preceded him in death on May 6, 2003. Survivors include his daughters, Amanda (Wink) Pridemore and Kimberly Kepley; two brothers, Crick (Sandy) Harper and William Harper; five sisters, Dolly Amos, Polly (Phil) Hawley, Betty (Robert) Elliott, Marty Parson and Barbara Harper; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; his cousin and special friend, Harry Newlin; and three special “daughters”, Christina (Tim) Lewis, Mary (Rob) Pridemore and Julie (Scott) Shank. Rusty was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 30 years; his son, Russell Ryan Harper; his brother, Bob Harper; three sister-in-laws, Janice, Linda and Brenda; and two brother-in-laws, Larry and Homer.
