Floyd Lee Brooks Jr.

Floyd Lee Brooks Jr., 52, of Georgetown, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Nov. 5, 2009, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on May 6, 1957, in Danville, the son of Floyd Brooks Sr. and Patricia Morur Brooks. He was married to Susan Campbell on Dec. 10, 1986. She will miss him dearly.

Other survivors include his father, Floyd Brooks Sr.; his children, Roy Campbell, Jeremiah (Steffanie) Lyons, Dustin (Renee Koss) Campbell, Johnny (Rachel) Brooks, Tammi (Brian) Appelman and Jennifer Campbell; several grandchildren; his brothers, Ronald Brooks, David (Sharon) Brooks, Darren Brooks, Troy Brooks, Bobby (Robin) Brooks, Dwayne Riggle and Chris Riggle; and his sisters, Laurie (Chris) Jenkins, Alice (Bruce) Shoemaker and Amy Johnson. He was preceded in death by his mother, a son, a brother and a sister.

Floyd was an over-the-road truck driver with Walker Farms. He enjoyed racing stock cars, campfires and cookouts with the family, as well as, spending time with his grandkids. He was his wife’s greatest companion. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Elwood Cemetery. Roger Mertens will officiate. Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
