Crystal Pilkington

Crystal Pilkington, 53, of Danville, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 14, 1954, in Danville, the daughter of Charles and Maxine (Messmore) McBee, both deceased.

Crystal is survived and will be missed by: her husband, Harold Pilkington of Danville; her son; Jason McBee of North Dakota; her daughter, Jessica Potts of Danville, and her two step-daughters, Robin Pilkington of Covington, Ind., and Tracey (Brad) Wright, of Covington, Ind. Crystal is also survived by: her six grandchildren: Noah McBee, Logan McBee, Khai Bryant, Kole McClellen, Evan Wright, and Gavin Wright; her five brothers, Mike (Diane) McBee of San Diego, Calif., Steve (Tammy) McBee of Tilton, Chuck (Cathy) McBee of Westville, Alan McBee of Springfield, Kevin (Diane) McBee of Bloomington, Ill. and her three sisters, Debra (Ron) Sutton of Bismarck, Kathy (John) Mayo of Westville and Jan Cottle of Oakwood., as well as her beloved friend, Sandy Priest of Oakwood. Three siblings preceded Crystal in death.

Crystal worked in the surgery department at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville where she was voted for the RISE award for work integrity, as well as winning numerous employee of the month awards. She enjoyed her flower garden, especially her daisies, fishing, and being with her family. Crystal’s family would like to thank the Provena Hospice Department and the staff at the N. Logan Cancer Center for the care and love that was shown.

A celebration of the life of Crystal Pilkington will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at the funeral home. Per her wishes, Crystal will be cremated following the services and inurnment will take place at a later date.
