Betty Lou Brown, 84, of Georgetown passed away at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Betty was born on April 15, 1923 in Attica, Ind., the daughter of Earl and Frances Ruth (Kinnamon) Stumpp. Both her parents preceded her in death.
On Feb. 10, 1947, Betty married Ercil E. Brown in Attica, Ind. He preceded her in death in December 1998. Betty is survived and will be missed by: her three daughters, Karen (Bob) McFadden of Lafayette, Ind., Pamela (Sam) Van Camp of Georgetown and Nancy (Harlyn) Hatcher of Ridge Farm; her 14 grandchildren, Kayleen (Mark) Banschbach, Kenneth Kimbrell, Bobby (Kara) McFadden, Melany (Eric) Longo, Tim (Teresa) McFadden, Jodie (Dave) Patty, Susan (Michael) Pastor, Johnny Kimbrell, Gary (Jessica) Hatcher, Joshua (Kimberly) Hatcher, Aaron Hatcher, Amanda Hatcher, Ronald Van Camp and Leslie Van Camp and her 25 great-grandchildren. Her son Gary preceded her in death.
Betty was a graduate of Attica High School and a fan of the Indiana University basketball team and the New York Yankees baseball team. She enjoyed her family, listening to music, and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her cat “Tony.”
A celebration of the life of Betty Brown is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home located at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Pastor Bob McFadden will officiate the service. Final resting place will be at the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service on Monday.
