Jerry D. Talbott

Jerry D. Talbott, 78, of Danville, passed this life surrounded by his family at 4:13 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, after a battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Armstrong, the son of Ray L. and Margaret “Maggie” Kitts Talbott. Both deceased.

Jerry married Frances R. Howard on Oct. 4, 1974. Survivors include his wife, Fran of 33 years; two sons, Rick (Gina) Talbott of Urbana and Mike (Danguole) Weese of Westville; three daughters, Chris (Carl) Meese of Danville, Kim (Todd) Jameson of Potomac and Lori (Todd) Weese of Oakwood; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive him. Three brothers and a sister preceded Jerry in death.

Jerry drove a semi for several companies for 20 years until purchasing his own truck and leasing it to Tarvin Trucking Company, with a special driver behind the wheel, Randy Potter.

Jerry enjoyed the outdoors and working in the yard. He enjoyed meeting his friends at the Steak ‘n Shake Restaurant in North Danville for coffee. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

A celebration of the life of Jerry Talbott is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with Pastor Randy Walters officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 at the funeral home. The Talbott family has asked that all donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or Carle Hospice in Jerry’s name.
