Vera Irene Fox Simpson

— Vera Irene Fox Simpson, 89, died at 3:20 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, in Lane House Nursing Center in Crawfordsville. She had been a resident since 2002. She was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Lake County, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Coatney Fox. They preceded her in death. Irene was married to Maurice Simpson in Crown Point Dec. 15, 1937. He preceded her in death. They had farmed in the Georgetown, Ill., area for many years. She belonged to Jehovah’s Witnesses Georgetown Congregation.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois Galloway of Romney and Nancy Cash of Crawfordsville; a son, Curtis Simpson of Champaign, Ill.; two sisters, Helen Smith of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Gladys McMahon of Walkerton; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. EDT (1 p.m. CDT) Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Ill.; Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate in charge of arrangements.
