Clifford M. Smith
CLINTON, Ind. —
Clifford M. Smith, 76, of Clinton, formerly of the Danville, Ill., area, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 8:05 a.m. EDT Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born July 8, 1931, in State Line, the son of the late Robert and Margaret E. McKee Smith. He married Connie M. Moudy on Sept. 7, 1968, in Covington. She preceded him in death April 23, 1998.
Survivors include: one daughter, Carrie Smith of Aurora, Colo.; one son, Chad (Stephanie) Smith of Conifer, Colo.; one granddaughter, Aubrey Smith of Conifer, Colo.; and one sister, Winnie Hazelwood of Covington. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Jones, and one brother, Robert Smith.
Clifford was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Army. While in the Army, he helped trained the MCWTC. He was a member of the Lyford Bible Church in Lyford, Ind. Clifford enjoyed hiking at Turkey Run State Park, mountain and rock climbing, camping and traveling to Colorado. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter.
