Delia Jane Morris
Delia Jane Morris, 81, of Danville, passed away at 6:52 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center.
Delia was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Danville, the daughter of Joseph and Minnie Burrow Pichon. On Dec. 8, 1945, she married Frank V. Morris in Danville. He preceded her on Oct. 24, 1993.
She was the loving mother of Larry (Cathy) Morris of Georgetown, Robert (Connie) Morris of Danville and Garry (Doris) Morris of Ashmore, Ill.; cherished grandmother of Larry Jr., Kenneth (Terri), Veronica (James) Verhoeven, Dawn, Robert Jr., Steven (Felicia), Tricia, Michelle, Gary Jr. (Brenda), Tony (Shelly) Collom, Dominique and Danielle Caputo; great-grandmother of 35 and great-great-grandmother of two; dear sister of Madeline (Jack) Cary of Catlin; fond aunt to many nieces and nephews; longtime friend of Pat Lacey; and also survived by a sister-in-law and her husband of Indianapolis.
Delia was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Spec. 4th Class USA Kenneth Morris, and a brother, Everett Pichon.
Delia cherished her family, enjoying the time with all of them. She attended the Hillery Assembly of God, was a member of MADD, enjoyed fishing, camping and mushrooming. She also was a fan of NASCAR.
A celebration of Delia’s life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. Rev. Kenneth Young will officiate. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at the funeral home.
