Robert W. Campbell
Robert W. Campbell, 79, of Anderson, Ind., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at St. John’s Health System after a sudden illness.
He was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Twelve Mile, Ind. He was an electrical engineer for Delco Remy Plant 1 for 45 years before retiring in 1996. He had 19 patents that were used by General Motors. He attended Church of God at West Anderson. He was an avid bridge player. He attained the status of Life Masters.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary V. (Ratcliff) Campbell of Anderson whom he married Dec. 25, 1949, in Kingman, Ind.; two sons, Ned (wife, Robin) Campbell of Muncie and Gordon (wife, Machel) Campbell of Hillsboro, Ind.; two sisters, Eileen (husband, Gerald) Parker of Indianapolis and Lila Lubker of Roswell, N.M.; sister-in-law, Martha (husband, David) Ziegler of Veedersburg, Ind.; and a brother-in-law, Edward L. (wife, Martha) Ratcliff of Kingman, Ind.; three grandchildren, Pacia C. (husband, Derrick) Ogilvie, Adrienne M. Campbell and Adam R. Campbell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Glenn and Fredia (Jarred) Campbell and an infant son.
Funeral services: Noon EST Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson; Burial: 3:30 p.m. EST Friday in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Officiated by: Rev. William Soetenga; Visitation: two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
