Grotto to serve spaghetti

Breakfast K to meet

The Danville Breakfast Kiwanis Club will meet at 6:45 a.m. today at CRIS Healthy-Aging Center, 309 N. Franklin. The program speaker will be Bob Boesdorfer, president, Danville/Champaign Banking Center, First Midwest Bank.

Golden K to hear speaker

Provena Foundation program coordinator Dottie McLaughlin will speak to the Danville Kiwanis Golden K at 2 p.m. today at CRIS Healthy-Aging Center, 309 N. Franklin St. She will talk about I Sing The Body Electric.

Library plans matinee

The Danville Public Library Outreach Department’s free Monday Matinee series will show the 2012 film “Joyful Noise” today. Refreshments will be available at 1:30 p.m. The film will begin at 2 p.m. in the first floor meeting room. The movie stars Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton and Keke Palmer.

Sign up now for ‘Toys’

Signups for the Toys for Tots program are taking place this month at the Salvation Army, 855 E. Fairchild St. People may sign up from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 29.

People need to bring: photo ID, proof of income (last 30 days’ worth of income), proof of residency (power bill, aid card, mail with address, etc.) and child or children’s information (birth certificate, medical card, proof of custody). Only one family member may sign up the child or children. For more details, call 442-5911.

Blanket drive on Friday

The Robin Hood Foundation of Danville is sponsoring its fourth annual Blanket Drive. The foundation will collect new or gently used blankets from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday in the Kmart parking lot.

Blankets will be distributed a week later at the Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God, 400 Logan Ave.
