City council members will soon be looking into renewing a lease with Casey’s General Store in town for an alley that runs through the business’ parking lot.
The current 20-year lease between the two began in April 1993. Casey’s requested Tuesday to enter into a new 20-year lease regarding the alley that runs east and west through their parking lot at 1109 N. Main St.
Aldermen agreed to have Casey’s prepare the lease, which they will then review along with the city attorney.
In other business, aldermen:
Approved the annual audit, which was found to be favorable. Overall assets in the city were increased from the prior year. Auditors recommended that city officials continue managing funds similarly in the future.
Approved the annual maintenance agreement for the cathodic protection corrosion control equipment for the south water tower at a cost of $690 with Corrpro. The measure helps to prevent corrosion on the inside of the water tower.
