---- — DANVILLE — Downtown restaurant Rich’s Deluxe will be open for breakfast starting on Monday.
Owner Rich Imeri said he wanted to expand the restaurant’s offerings.
“I think (the public will) like it,” he said.
The restaurant, 21 W. North St., will now be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
To celebrate the restaurant now being open for breakfast, there will be free pancakes and coffee from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday.
Imeri said new menus are ready. Breakfast offerings will include biscuits and gravy, pancakes, cinnamon French toast, waffles, omelets and other skillet meals.
There’s a wide variety of items for people looking to start their day with a good breakfast at a reasonable price, Imeri said.
The restaurant also has made some other changes, such as offering more sandwiches and changing up homemade meals including meatloaf, stuffed cabbage, pork chops, fried chicken and others. The restaurant still has steaks and fish and other customer favorites, such as the soups and salad bar.
The restaurant will have a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving.
After a year of renovation, Rich’s Deluxe in downtown opened in June. Photos from the days before the restaurant’s transformation are in frames inside the building.
Since 1935, downtown Danville has enjoyed The Deluxe as a favorite eating place.
The Imeri family now operates three restaurants in this area: in Danville, Tilton and Ogden. Rich’s Deluxe is managed by Alban and Drita (Imeri) Purelku.
