OAKWOOD — The second annual Dig Deeper 5K – Clean Water for Haiti will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Kickapoo State Park.

The scenic paved course goes through woods and past fields and ponds. Registration forms are available at the Dig Deeper Facebook page. Prizes will be awarded to the top overall finishers as well as the age-bracket winners. Walkers are also welcome.

The Dig Deeper project is supported by local churches, runners and friends of Haiti. Financial accountability is provided by Community Church of God, 535 S. Bowman Ave., which has a long-standing partnership with Haiti. Each year, members take a missions trip to Haiti to help build facilities, provide medical clinics and share fellowship.
