Tuesday:

A cellular phone stolen in the 200 block of New York Avenue.

A man arrested for domestic battery in the 700 block of Douglas Street.

Financial identity theft in the 600 block of Plum Street.

Theft at Mobil Super Pantry, 1212 N. Bowman Ave.

A man arrested for criminal trespassing in the 1600 block of East Fairchild Street.

Garage burglary in the first block of South Beard Street.

Burglary in the 600 block of Pixley Street.

Burglary in the 500 block of Harvey Street.

Battery in the 500 block of Harvey Street.

Battery in the 3500 block of Ferndale Street.

Possession of drug paraphernalia at Jackson and Orchard streets.

Burglary in the 500 block of North Beard Street.

Burglary in the 1900 block of East Main Street.

Vermilion County

Tuesday:

Domestic dispute in the 100 block of North Lakeview.

Property damage in the 100 block of East 13th Street, Georgetown.

A man arrested for possession of cannabis at South Griffin Street and Texas Avenue.

Tuesday, 2:06-2:25 p.m. A false alarm at 801 N. Logan Ave.

Tuesday, 3:05-3:19 p.m. A medical call in the 1900 block of East Voorhees Street.

Tuesday, 4:43-5:28 p.m. A fire in an electrical outlet in the first block of National Avenue.

Tuesday, 6:34-7:19 p.m. An illegal burning at 3220 Independence Drive.

Tuesday, 7:31-7:41 p.m. A false alarm at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, 812 N. Logan Ave.

Tuesday, 9:36-9:53 p.m. A medical call in the 600 block of Bryan Avenue.

Tuesday, 10:38-10:45 p.m. A false alarm at Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System, 1900 E. Main St.

Wednesday, 2:53-3:18 a.m. A false alarm at 101 E. Seminary St.

  • Police investigate shooting report

    DANVILLE — City police investigated reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Moore Street about 6:30 p.m.

    Preliminary reports had as many as three people with gunshot wounds. Ambulances were called to assist two of the people with wounds to the leg and one with a chest wound.

    The investigation continued Friday evening.

    Hank Hornbeck, superintendent of Hoopeston Area schools, informed board members Thursday that staff health insurance rates would increase 5.99 percent from the previous year. Health insurance would remain with Health Alliance.
