Food certification class set

DANVILLE — The Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service Sanitation Refresher Course will be offered from 6-8:30 p.m. today and Thursday at Henk’s Bait and Bite, 302 N. Henning Road. The five-hour course is required every five years for Food Service Management in Commercial and School Food Service.

The instruction includes information on the causes of food-borne illness, employee health and hygiene, purchasing, receiving, and storing food, cleaning and sanitizing procedures. A 15-hour certification class is scheduled on Dec. 30-31 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the East Central Community Action Agency, 56 N. Vermilion St.

The IDPH certification test will be given at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 31. The cost of the 15-hour course, textbook, handouts, and certification test is $100. Call Chris Fitzsimmons at 497-1037 to make a reservation or to get more information.
