Police, fire reports

DANVILLE — Police responded to the following incidents:



--Residential burglary in the 600 block of West Harrison Street.

--Criminal trespass in the 14000 block of East 2200 North Road.

--Deceptive practice in the 600 block of Grant Street.


--Residential burglary in the 300 block of Park Street.

--Criminal damage in the first block of Kentucky Avenue.

--Domestic battery inside Big R, 3363 N. Vermilion St.

--Retail theft at County Market, 2917 N. Vermilion St.

--Residential burglary in the 2700 block of Townway Road.


--Disorderly conduct in the 600 block of Douglas Avenue.

--Burglary at Little Nugget, 6 S. Henning Road.

Vermilion County


--Domestic battery in the 200 block of West Third Street, Tilton.

--Domestic battery in the 1000 block of Glendale Avenue.

--Theft of motor vehicle near State and Delaware streets, Westville.

Accidents involving tickets or injuries included:

Monday, 12:56 a.m. — In the Unit Block of Tennessee Avenue involving Ricardo Santos Mendez, 25, of the 200 block of Tennessee Avenue,  Danville, who reportedly  hit a parked car. Mendez was ticketed for not having a valid driver’s license, failure to reduce speed and illegal transportation of alcohol.

Sunday, 3:08 p.m. — Near the intersection of Madison and Alexander streets involving Tapria Renae Thomas, 18, of the 200 block of Edwards Street, Danville, and Charles J. Smith, 68,  of the 1100 block of Dakota Street., Danville. Thomas was ticketed  for  failure to yield and for driving in the wrong lane.

Firefighters responded to the following calls:

Sunday, 2:39-2:49 p.m. — Medical call in the 200 block of Kentucky Avenue.

Sunday, 6:48-6:57 p.m. — Illegal burning in the first block of Pennsylvania.

Sunday, 9:11-9:38 p.m. — Investigation in the first block of Lakeshore Drive.

Monday, 3:12-3:26 a.m. — Lift assist in the 1200 block of Perrysville Road.

Monday, 5:31-5:53 a.m. — Medical call in the 3400 block of East Main Street.
