The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is set for Saturday, May 10. On Saturday, residents in the county can place nonperishable food items — such as canned soup, canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter tuna, macaroni or cereal — out by their mailbox early in the morning. Each resident’s letter carrier will pick up his or her donation when the carrier makes his or her regular rounds. Those with larger donations can bring them to the local post office.
All food collected will be distributed to local food pantries within the community. Letter carriers in Danville, Tilton, Westville, Georgetown, Oakwood, Catlin and Bismarck will be participating along with letter carriers across the nation.
