N. Vermillion board approves summer work

CAYUGA, Ind. — The North Vermillion School Board told Ode McGuire Shook of Indianapolis to seek bids for summer projects at both buildings.

Board members approved a $3.5 million additional appropriation resolution for the work.

In other business, board members:

Increased the driver education fee by $5 to $330.

Approved 2012-14 school calendar. The first day for teachers will be Aug. 9; first day for students will be Aug. 12. Graduation will be May 24, 2014.

Accepted the retirements of Cheryl Huey, Angie Crowder, Sandy Carmichael, Jeanne Swaney and Eleanor Wesch as the end of the school year.
