CLINTON, Ind. — An Indiana State trooper made a couple of quick observations when he pulled a truck driver over for erratic driving Wednesday.
The traffic stop took place at 10:15 a.m. EST Wednesday on State Route 63 near County Road 1650S. A trooper was on routine patrol when he pulled over a truck driver, later identified as Maurice Gregory, 31, of Chicago, for erratic driving.
According to state police, the trooper found the driver sitting behind the wheel of the truck wearing only boxer shorts and a T-shirt. In addition, state police indicated there was a smell of what was believed to be burned marijuana.
The driver was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for a blood test and later incarcerated in the Vermillion County Jail. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and issued traffic citations for following a vehicle too closely, unsafe lane movement and a log book violation.
Gregory was driving a white 2002 International tractor under authority of Chicago Intermodal Trucking Inc. of Rockdale. The combination was en route to Washington, Ind., from Rockford.
