The Vermilion County Museum Society has announced the season opening of the historic Lamon House, located in Lincoln Park on Logan Avenue.
Beginning Sunday, the house will be open from 1:30-4:30 p.m. each Sunday until October.
Joseph B. and Melissa Beckwith Lamon built the house, which was originally located on North Street. Melissa’s father, Dan, is the man after whom Danville was named. Melissa’s brother Hiram wrote “The History of Vermilion County.”
On the first Sunday of each month, Melissa and Hiram will be in residence to visit with patrons and tell them about the history of Vermilion County. For more information, call the museum at 442-2922.
